AC maintenance that catches the failure in spring

A written checklist, a technician who explains the findings, and two visits a year when you join a Trinity membership.

Chapter 01

What a neglected system looks like at 3 p.m. in July

Air conditioners rarely fail on a mild morning. They fail at the end of a long hot afternoon, when the coil is caked with a season of pollen and dust, the capacitor that starts the compressor has been weakening for months, and the condensate line has quietly clogged. Each of those is cheap to catch in spring and expensive to meet for the first time on a holiday weekend.

A maintenance visit exists to find them while the house is still cool. A technician who opens the unit, tests the parts and reads the numbers can tell a capacitor that is drifting out of range from one that is fine, and can tell you before it strands you. That is the whole case for maintenance, and it is a practical one.

The Trinity System Care checklist, line by line

Every Trinity System Care visit follows the same written checklist. It starts at the thermostat, confirming calibration and the heating, cooling and fan functions, then moves to airflow: filter condition, supply and return airflow, and a look at the blower compartment and motor. Electrical and safety is next, with connections inspected and tightened, capacitors and contactors tested, and limit switches and safety controls verified.

The refrigerant check covers the lines and their insulation, system pressures when applicable, the evaporator coil and the temperature differential across the system. Outside, the technician inspects the condenser coil and cleans it as far as it is accessible, inspects the fan motor, and checks the disconnect and electrical whip. Last, the drain: the condensate line is inspected and flushed when accessible, and the pan and safety switch are checked.

The visit ends with a performance review. The technician confirms the system starts and shuts down properly, documents findings and recommendations, and gives you a plain summary of where the system stands. You are never left guessing what was done.

Chapter 03

Two visits a year, built into a membership

An air conditioner works hard through a long cooling season, and one visit a year leaves a lot of months unchecked. Both Trinity memberships include two annual System Care visits for a single system, two annual HVAC service visits with the standard service visit charge waived, a priority seasonal system review, and front-of-line scheduling when it is hot and everyone is calling.

Trinity Guardian Care is $29.99 a month, takes 15% off repairs and brings the member visit rate to $30, with a two-year warranty on parts replaced while the membership is active. Trinity Priority Plus is $14.99 a month, takes 10% off repairs and brings the visit rate to $55, with a one-year parts warranty while active. Signup credits of $500 and $250 apply only toward a new HVAC system installation, not to repairs or maintenance. Every detail is on the memberships page.
