AC repair when the house is warm and it is already late
Open 24 hours, 7 days. Diagnosis first, the options explained plainly, and no work started without your approval.
Chapter 01
Warm air, a hum and no start, a frozen coil: what the symptom usually is
A system that hums at the condenser but never spins the fan is often a failed run or start capacitor. A system that does not start at all can be a worn contactor, a tripped safety switch on a clogged condensate line, or a thermostat that has lost its call. Warm air from the vents with the outdoor fan running points toward the refrigerant side: a low charge from a leak, a restricted metering device, or a compressor that has stopped pumping.
A coil that ices over in the middle of summer is a symptom, not the problem. Restricted airflow from a filter or blower, or a low charge, is almost always behind it. Chipping off the ice or running the fan to thaw it buys a few hours. We look for the reason the coil iced, because that is what comes back next week.

How a Trinity technician works a no-cool call at any hour
Trinity is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and the phone at (479) 325-1075 is answered. A Sunday evening call with the house in the high 80s gets treated like the emergency it is. One customer wrote that Conrad called back himself to say he would come and fix it rather than make her wait for the earlier technician, and that the bill was reasonable for a Sunday evening.
The work itself is simple to describe. We confirm what the thermostat is asking for, then trace power and control voltage from the disconnect to the contactor and the capacitor, then check the refrigerant side with gauges when the symptoms call for it. We explain what failed, what the repair options are and what each costs, and we do not start work you have not approved.
Not every call is a big one. A customer on a holiday weekend had the service call accommodated at a reasonable price, and it turned out to be a board reset.
Chapter 03
Keeping the same failure from coming back
A repair should answer why the part failed, not only replace it. A capacitor that fails twice usually means something is overheating the condenser; a drain switch that trips repeatedly means the line is growing algae or has a bad slope. Telling you that is part of the visit.
The cheapest protection is the System Care visit, which tests capacitors and contactors and flushes the drain before the heat arrives. Both Trinity memberships take a percentage off repairs: 15% on Guardian Care and 10% on Priority Plus, plus front-of-line scheduling for the days when everyone is calling at once.

Call tonight or wait for morning
How to read what your system is doing.
- Call now: no cooling and the house is climbing, especially with children, pets or anyone medically vulnerable inside.
- Call now: a burning smell, a breaker that trips the moment the system starts, or water coming through a ceiling.
- Call now: the outdoor unit hums and the fan does not turn.
- Can wait for morning: cooling is weak but steady, a rattle is new, or one room lags behind the others.
- Try first: check the thermostat batteries and setting, the filter, and the breaker, then call.
If you are unsure which side of the line you are on, call and ask. The same number answers at 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. See AC maintenance to keep it from happening again, or claim $50 off your next service call.
“Mason was very patient, explained what my problem was (turns out just a board reset). Although the service call was on a holiday weekend Trinity was nice enough to accommodate me at a reasonable price. I won't hesitate to call them again!”
